Course description French intensive A1

In the intensive French course for A1, you learn elementary French language skills and develop an understanding of French at levels A1.1 and A1.2. At the A1 level, you learn receptive (listening and reading) and productive (speaking and writing) skills in French, the national language of France and some other francophone countries. Navigate everyday situations, such as traveling and shopping in the French-speaking world, and make yourself understood by French speakers.

The traditions and culture of francophone countries and regions are central to these language lessons. Through this lens, you develop an in-depth understanding and feel for the French language. This French course is also a helpful way to prepare for A1-level French exams, such as telc and Delf, or for lessons at school. Additional participation in LcL Language Lab sessions helps you acquire French pronunciation. A native-speaker instructor guides you through exercises to improve your accent and intonation. Online participation is also available by request*.
