Together we’ll perfect your abilities at conceiving, designing, and giving academic presentations. Whether you’re dreading a conference presentation, or you want to improve your professional competency at lecturing in English, this course is for you. Not only will you explore relevant aspects of the theory and practice of rhetoric in depth, but you will also receive ongoing individualised feedback as you develop your own presentation over the course of two weekends .

I am an author and academic, who has taught Literature, Academic Writing, and English Language in Austria, the UK, Singapore, and Hungary. I have a BA, MA and PhD in English from the University of London, where I also completed my teacher-training. Although I have published a monograph and numerous academic articles, my current passion is creative writing. My first novel, Inside Virgil Caine, is being published later this year, while my poetry has been published by Broken Sleep Books. Sceptical about the efficacy of the one-size-fits-all approach of many Academic Writing departments, I wholeheartedly endorse LcL’s tailored approach towards language tuition: all of my academic writing courses are based on my 10+ years of experience of being a research-active academic and tailored to the needs of my individual students.

For me, teaching writing – regardless of whether it’s critical or creative writing – is about empowering others to formulate and communicate their ideas with absolute clarity and confidence. And there are few things more rewarding than enabling brilliant minds to share their ideas with the world.
