Austrian Sign Language A1

In the ÖGS A1 course, you get to know Austria’s visual language from the ground up. You begin with the finger alphabet, basic handshapes, and the fundamental rules of ÖGS grammar. Step by step, you develop an understanding of how facial expression, space, and movement interact –and how individual signs form clear, meaningful messages.

You also build a solid base vocabulary: colours, numbers, time expressions, people, family, relationships, and housing. Through practical exercises and short dialogue sequences, you quickly gain confidence and manage your first everyday situations in ÖGS.

This course provides a strong foundation for your learning journey – communicative, hands-on, and easy to apply.
